Lethbridge Woman Worked On Oscar Nominated “The Revenant”

LETHBRIDGE:  There’s a Lethbridge connection to one of the most critically acclaimed movies of the year.

Local woman Gianna Isabella was a Production Assistant on the set of “The Revenant” that was filmed in locations such as the mountainous terrain around Canmore. 

The movie won Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor at this month’s Golden Globes and was nominated for 12 Oscars this week.

Isabella said during filming she could tell the movie, which was shot entirely using natural light, was going to be a big success.

She says that’s what motivated her and the crew during 18 hour days and – 40 temperatures.

She adds the set was so beautiful and vast and every department from makeup to props and designs was first rate.

Isabella, who graduated from U of L, also worked on the 2014 film “Interstellar”.
