Thanking Dads for Important Role in Childhood Development

LETHBRIDGE: Studies from Lethbridge’s Family Centre have found that fathers are critical in the development of healthy brains in their children.
Its “Supporting Father Involvement” program gets the two people who love and care for children the most working better together.
They found through the program that depression rates decline, parents become closer together in their relationship, children develop a stronger moral compass and other overall positive benefits for the family.
In an effort to recognize and thank dads in the city for their hard work, the Family Centre has started a social media campaign using #YQLDads until Father’s Day on June 19.
