With Another Win and 70-Points Hurricanes Maintain Grip on 1st in the WHL

LETHBRIDGE:   Tyler Wong had the winning goal in OT as the Lethbridge Hurricanes made it nine wins in a row Saturday night with a 4-3 decision over the Moose Jaw Warriors.

The Canes had control of the game in the first period.  Egor Babenko opened the scoring at 1:06, with assists from Giorgio Estephan and Brayden Burke.  Estephan followed with the second goal at 14:01.

The lone goal in the 2nd period came courtesy of the Warriors who then tied the game up at 8:21 of the 3rd.  Action picked up from there as the Canes pulled ahead with a goal from Brayden Burke at 12:13 and Moose Jaw again tied the game 14:17.

Overtime action was short-lived as Wong’s goal came at 1:03, assisted by Burke.

In net for the Canes, Jayden Sittler faced 35 shots while Brody Willms of the Warriors had 42 shots fired at his net.

There were 4628 in attendance as the Hurricanes recognized Bryce Salvador who played all five of his junior seasons with the Hurricanes, before spending 14 seasons in the NHL with the New Jersey Devils and the St. Louis Blues.
