“Broken Hearted” Family Gathers for Vigil

Feb 9, 2016 | 4:33 PM

LETHBRIDGE – Devastated family and friends honoured Frances Candice Little Light’s “joyful personality and willingness to help anyone” with a candlight vigil.

Little Light is Lethbridge’s second homicide victim of 2016. Police confirmed that her death was a homicide on February 9.

“We all knew her as Aunty Candy. When we were kids, she was always there for us. She was like the rock for all of us,” said her nieces Anita and Carrie Little Light.

“We need justice served… They need to understand they hurt a family.”

Little Light’s sisters remember her as kind hearted and generous, saying Candy’s dearly loved and missed.

Members of the Siksika nation also showed up outside the apartment building along the 100 Block of Columbia Boulevard West to support the family and mourn.

Police currently have no suspects in custody, but say there’s no evidence to suggest an on-going risk to the public.
