Temperature Records Broken Across the Province on Tuesday

LETHBRIDGE:  Environment Canada was busy counting temperatures on the high end of the scale for February on Tuesday, an unseasonally warm weather broke temperature records across Alberta.  Some of the Highs, were a bit higher than others, depending on the location.   

Calgary broke a 90-year-old record, with the temperature in the city hitting 16.4, slightly above the 1926 record high of 14.4. In Edmonton, the International Airport recorded a high of 7.9, surpassing the previous5.9 high for the day, set on Febraury 9th of 1995.

But, those weren’t the highest temperatrues in the province. 

Lethbridge hit a high of 17.8 between noon and 1:00. Claresholm got up to 17.3.  Cardston tallied 19 degrees.  However, the highest temperature was in Milk River and Writing-on-Stone Park…which reached 19.6 degrees.  That was also Canada’s hot spot for the day!
