20th Annual Investing In Youth Campaign Sets $30K Goal

LETHBRIDGE:  The 20th Annual Investing In Youth Campaign is underway.

5th on 5th Youth Services launched the milestone initiative Thursday with a campaign goal of $30,000.

Executive Director Gail McKenzie says that money be used to secure other funding opportunities.

“This allows us to put our portion in, so that we can leverage that and get significantly more money for different grants or contracts we can find. And of course, staying within our mission and mandate to help at-risk youth become successful.”

The 2016 campaign theme is “Bringing People Together”, reflecting 5th on 5th’s relationship with partners in the community.

McKenzie says the organization is now on a solid path to recovery after the loss of some programming recently.

“Four years ago is when we lost our major funding and that was about 50% of our budget. It really is because of the community support that we are still standing.”

The initiative closes April 2016 with the Taste of Lethbridge.
