PINCHER CREEK:  A vehicle fire south of Pincher Creek on Tuesday morning is being blamed on mechanical failure.

Pincher Creek Fire and EMS were called to a report of a truck fire about 20-kilometres south of Pincher Creek on Highway-6, around 11:40.

The Deputy Fire Chief noted there had been two individuals in the truck, who were taken to hospital by private vehicle. RCMP confirm the individuals were not seriously injured.

RCMP also indicate a mechanical failure was responsible for a fire, which forced the truck off the road. It’s believed the drive shaft came off of the truck.
