Daughter of Lethbridge Homicide Victim Set to Make Statement

Apr 6, 2016 | 2:25 PM

LETHBRIDGE – A statement will be released Thursday afternoon, from the daughter of Lethbridge’s first homicide victim of 2016.

The body of 78-year old Irene Carter was found in her south side home in January, with an autopsy later confirming it was a homicide and that she died from stab wounds.

Police are only saying that Lisa Freihaut will make a statement, and that the media will be able to speak with Sergeant Ryan Stef, of the Lethbridge Police Service Violent Crimes Unit.

Just after 2 p.m. on January 17, police responded to a 911 call at a home along the 300 block of Normandy Road South. Family members had not been able to contact Carter and they discovered her body inside the home when they went to check on her.
