Apr 17, 2016 | 11:07 AM

ALBERTA – The local 435 Transport and Rescue Squadron will conduct routine search and rescue training this week in southern Alberta and B.C.

They will execute aerial search patterns with two CC-!30 Hercules aircraft, deploy equipment bundles and exercise search and rescue techniques by parachute.

435 Transport has issued the information as a Public Service announcement to let the public know that if they see the Hercules or parachute deployment, this is an exercise only.

Regional and local search and rescue organizations, including the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association (CASARA), will also participate in training.
