Police Conducting Training in South Side Neighbourhood Wednesday Afternoon

LETHBRIDGE:    Residents may see what appears to be police action on the South side of the city on Wednesday afternoon. However, it is only a training exercise.

Between 1:30 and 5:00-pm, Lethbridge Police officers be at an abandoned home located at 1266 7th Avenue South, to participate in a critical incident training scenario.

During the exercise members of the Tactical Team, Explosive Disposal Unit, K9 and other officers will be in and around the property. In addition, residents will hear loud noises, including police calling out commands and the deployment of distraction devices.

There is no risk to neighbours or neighbouring properties, but police ask that residents stay back from 1266 7 Avenue South during the exercise.
