CANADA – Applications are now being accepted for the Beef Researcher Mentorship Program.

The program, offered through the Beef Cattle Research Council, is geared towards upcoming and new applied researchers in Canada whose studies are of value to the beef industry, such as cattle health and welfare, beef quality, genetics, feed efficiency, or forages.

Participants have the chance to establish partnerships with other researchers, meet producers and industry leaders to ask questions, and attend industry events and tour farms and ranches.

Last year, four researchers were selected for the program and were paired with mentors for a one year term. Each of the researchers reported very successful and valuable experiences.

The deadline to apply for the upcoming year is June 1st. A new group of participants will begin their mentorships in August. An application form can be found at http://www.beefresearch.ca/about/mentorship-program.cfm.
