Lethbridge Man Wins Provincial Award for Community Service

CALGARY:   The Human Resources Institute of Alberta (HRIA) presented Allan Friesen from Lethbridge with the “2016 Community Champion Award”. 

The award is given to an individual HRIA member in recognition of outstanding Volunteer contributions to a non-profit or charitable organization within the community.  It was presented at the HIRA ‘Celebrating Excellence Awards” ceremony in Calgary on April 21st

Friesen is a Certified Benefit Specialist and community volunteer, serving numerous local and regional organizations including the Rotary Club of Lethbridge, the Lethbridge Detachment of Victim Assistance Society, YWCA “Walk A Mile in Her Shoes, the Chamber of Commerce, Volunteer Lethbridge, the Lethbridge Fish and Game Association, the SAFE Society, and the McNally/Sunnyside Rural Crime Watch.  

HRIA is the professional association dedicated to strengthening the human resources profession with chapters in all major Alberta cities. The institute is the third largest HR association in Canada, representing over 6,000 members, and is the exclusive certifying body in Alberta for the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation.
