LETHBRIDGE – It was a successful day for the Lethbridge Hurricanes at the WHL Awards in Calgary.

Headlining the winners was General Manager Peter Anholt, who was recognized with the Lloyd Saunders Memorial Trophy as the WHL’s Executive of the Year. After taking over the role of GM in December of 2014, Anholt quickly turned the team around, guiding the Hurricanes to an impressive 46 win 2015-16 season that saw them finish fourth overall in the WHL and return to the post season.

It’s the first time the award has gone to a Lethbridge Hurricanes GM.

Team captain Tyler Wong became the third Hurricanes player to receive the Doug Wickenheiser Memorial Trophy as the WHL’s Humanitarian of the year, while Stuart Skinner won the Fan Choice Awards Play of the Year.
