LETHBRIDGE – A University of Lethbridge professor has been charged with one count of sexual assault.

The accusation came to light in November of 2015, when a 23-year old woman and former student reported to police that she was sexually assaulted by her professor in December of 2014.

An investigation found that on December 13, 2014, the student had been at an off-campus event and ended up alone in a room with a professor when the alleged incident occured.

Since learning of the matter, the University of Lethbridge has cooperated fully with police and suspended the professor, pending the outcome of the charge in court.
