Early Morning Apartment Fire Causes $15,000 Damage

LETHBRIDGE – Fire investigators are looking into an apartment fire that happened early Friday morning.

A neighbor reported the fire around 6:00-am, in the 2100-block of 35th street south.

By the time 15 firefighters from two stations arrived, flames were seen coming from a third story apartment window. They were able to quickly contain and extinguish the fire in the kitchen.

Initial damage is estimated to be $15,000.

A preliminary investigation indicates the fire is accidental, however fire investigators are still trying to determine the origin and cause.
