Lethbridge County Approves $73,000 in Grants for Community Projects

LETHBRIDGE – Fourteen community projects in Lethbridge County will be sharing $73,000 in funding, after getting approval from County Council.

Each spring community associations and organizations can submit applications to the Land Trust Reserve Fund Grant. A group can be approved for funding every two years, so long as it’s for a capital project that benefits Lethbridge County residents.

Below is the list of recipients for 2016:

Readymade Community Association; accessibility upgrades – $3,000
Shaughnessy Community Association; playground and flooring upgrades – $3,500
Turin Community Curling Club; park sporting upgrades – $5,000
Palliser Regional Schools; John Davidson School playground – $5,000
Hilltoppers Gymkhana Club; equipment – $7,500
Friends of Coalhurst High School; basketball frames – $5,000
Friends of Coalhurst Elementary School; playground and community park – $6,000
Indian Hill Golf Club; equipment upgrades – $7,500
Coaldale Granite Club; kitchen upgrades – $5,000
Nobleford Parks & Recreation Society; Centennial park lighting – $5,000
Prairie Tractor & Engine Museum Society; campsites and security upgrades – $7,500
Picture Butte & District Recreation and Culture Committee; Lions Centre spray park – $5,000
Picture Butte Golf & Winter Club; air conditioning replacement – $5,000
Project Playground Coaldale East; playground renovations – $3,000
