Environment Lethbridge Seeking Nominations for “Green Superheroes”

Jun 22, 2016 | 12:00 PM

LETHBRIDGE – The search is on for our City’s Green Superheroes.

From now until the September 30, 2016, Environment Lethbridge is seeking nominations for youth, individuals, businesses and organizations who are taking action to make the city a more environmentally-friendly place.

Kathleen Sheppard, Environment Lethbridge Executive Director, said nominations have already been coming in for this year’s campaign.

“Whether they are big deeds or small ones, we want to recognize and celebrate our local green superheroes who are doing great things for Lethbridge.”

Sheppard said there has been a variety of eco-friendly enthusiasts nominated since the campaign’s evolution from “the Green List” established in 2010.

“We have Eagle Eye Braydee, who is renowned for his ability to spot litter, Dew Weaver, who shares her knowledge of local food with children in our community and several others.”

Nominees and nominators will be invited to a community event in October, with the location and details to be announced.
