Millman named to Canadian NACAC Team

LETHBRIDGE:  Coming off another successful indoor season as a Pronghorn, fourth-year thrower Peter Millman will get to represent his country after being named to the Canadian team for the North America Central America Caribbean Association (NACAC) U23 Championships in San Salvador, El Salvador.

The NACAC U23 Championships will run July 15th through 17th and Millman enters the meet as the top qualifier among Canadians in the shot put field. Millman has also represented Canada at the World Youth Games in 2011 and Jr Pan Am Games in 2013.

“I am extremely excited to get the opportunity to represent Canada again and be a part of such an elite team of athletes,” said Millman. “Training has been going really well this summer, so I am excited to get to put all the training hours to work and see how far I can throw.”

The three-time Canada West Athlete of the Year for field events, led the ‘Horns to a second consecutive sweep of the shot put podium at the Canada West Championships and successfully defended his CIS title in the same event. He went on to be named CIS Athlete of the Year for field events and for the second year in a row, the Pronghorn Male Athlete of the Year.
