Triple Homicide Trial Set for 2018

Jun 27, 2016 | 1:26 PM

LETHBRIDGE – It will be sometime before Austin Lane Vielle goes to trial, after entering pleas of not guilty to three counts of second degree murder Monday morning.

The trial – which Vielle elected to be in front of a judge and jury – has been scheduled to run from January 8 to March 2 of 2018. The Crown explained that because of the significant time needed to conduct the trial, that was the earliest it could happen.

Around 2:30-am on April 28, 2015, Lethbridge Police found the bodies of 27-year old Kyle Devine, 24-year old Clarissa English and 18-year old Dakota English inside a home along the 200 block of McGill Boulevard West.

Autopsies confirmed all three victims died from multiple stab wounds.

Vielle was arrested the following day and charged with three counts of second degree murder.

An investigation determined Vielle was an acquaintance of the victims, and at the time of the murders he was under a recognizance for another crime, with a condition that he have no contact with Devine.

Vielle has been in custody since his arrest, and will remain there leading up to the trial.
