Dowtown Farmers Market Opens Wednesday

LETHBRIDGE:  The 11th annual Downtown Faremrs’ Market hits the street Wednesday.  It will set up on Festival Square at 3rd Avenue and 6th Street and run from 10:00-am to 3:00-pm, every Wednesday until August 31st.

So far, 24 vendors have registered to attend, with 14 returning full time vendors and nine new full time vendors.  As well, there will be numerous casual vendors.

The vendor list includes various local produce groups, including Hutterite Colonies, Broxburn Vegetables and Harvest Haven, along with meat and baking and condiement vendors. There will also be offerings from local jewelry and clothing designers.

New vendors are still be acepted, along with applications for the Community Taber, which offers a free tableto non profit. groups.

The Wednesday market has an average attendance of 500.  It is one fo three accredited Alberta Farmers Markets in the city.  The other is the Saturday market at Exhibition Park and the new west side Market, which will begin July 7th, in Lot R of the University, just off Parkway road west.
