LETHBRIDGE:  Trevor Stuart ‘s “Elevating Lives – One peak at a time,” campaign will come to a close Tuesday night (June 28th).

Supporters are invited to attend a finale slide show, video and lecture presentation by Trevor as he shares his experience completing a 16 month summit which recently ended with a trip to the top of Mt. Everest.

Trevor said he expects the sense of accomplishment to hit home in tonight’s event.

“I want to accomplish three things: I want to create more awareness for the charity, I want to bring hope for people who are desperate and I want to bring in more funds in for the growth of the Elevating lives campaign, so we can sustain our community for the women and children coming into the Harbour House.”

Trevor also climbed the highest peak in South America, Mt. Aconcagua in Argentina and five peaks in Bolivia.

There will be a photo and signing opportunity and spectators will have a chance to ask Stuart questions about the summit.

Kelly Miller, YWCA Coordinator, said that the campaign is currently sitting at $32,000 and she hopes that the finale will bring in more money to support the Harbour House.

“All of these funds make a large impact, as we have 24 beds upstairs that are used continuously. This money will go towards all sorts of projects from bedding to painting and more,” she said.

Miller dubbed Stuart the YWCA’s local, provincial and national hero and thanked him for making an impact on the community.

The event is a minimum $20 donation per person and runs at 7:00 pm in the Aspen room at the Lethbridge Lodge.
