LETHBRIDGE:  Police are investigating the theft of a flat deck truck June 17 and the   theft of a gooseneck trailer on the same date where the stolen truck appears to have been used to haul the trailer away.

On June 18th,  police responded to a business compound along the 3300 block of 32 Avenue North after a white 2005 Chev Silverado flat deck truck was stolen. Investigation determined that two unknown males in a white minivan, who were wearing reflective safety vests, attended the business June 17 and were confronted by staff and told to leave.

Before leaving it is believed the men had gained access to the truck stole a set of keys that had been left inside it, then returned after hours to steal it.

One of the subjects was described as being in his late 30s and the other in his 50s. Both were described as “rough looking.”

On June 24, 2016 police responded to a past theft complaint at a business along the 2800 block of 2 Avenue North after a black 2011 26-foot Bremar goose neck trailer containing an ATV, tools and riding gear, was stolen on June 17. The ATV is a 2013 Can-Am Maverick, yellow in colour. The total value of the stolen property is approximately $61,000.

The stolen truck and trailer are also believed to have been used in another theft outside Lethbridge Police jurisdiction. In that case the stolen truck and trailer, a white minivan and two male subjects, wearing reflective safety vests, were recorded on video surveillance at the scene.

Police are asking anyone with information on the identity of these subjects or any of the thefts to call 403-328-4444 or Crime Stoppers if they wish to remain anonymous at 1-800-222-8477.
