Jul 13, 2016 | 3:23 PM

LETHBRIDGE – Team placements were chosen on Wednesday, ahead of the 2016 Junior Little League Canadian Baseball Championships.

All events surrounding the round robin tournament are set to take place at Spitz Stadium. Players aged 13 to 15 years old from British Columbia all the way to the Maritimes are participating. (See placements to the right)

The gold-medal team will be off to the World Series in Taylor, Michigan at Heritage Park from August 14 to 21.

Shayne MacInnis, Lethbridge Giants Coach, says there are no teams they’re particularly worried about at this point.

“It’s different kids every year, so it’s tough to pinpoint each team… Either way, you have to give it a good effort, and come with your top players.”

MacInnis added that while nerves might be high for the big tournament, he just wants his boys to “embrace the moment” and “leave everything on the table”.

This is the fifth time Lethbridge has played host. Events run from August 2 to 12, with games starting on the 3rd.
