Police Ask for Public Help in Locating Missing Coutts Man

July 25 UPDATE: Edmonton Police confirm 28-year-old William David Smith from Coutts, who had been reported missing, has been found. Police say this matter does not appear to be criminal in nature.

 

EDMONTON:  The Edmonton Police Service needs the public’s help locating a missing 28-year-old Coutts man.

William David Smith, was last seen in Edmonton on Sunday, July 17th. 

According to a report by Global TV Lethbridge, Smith spoke to his father by telephone Sunday afternoon and nothing was out of the ordinary.  However, the father then received text messages, the content of which were not revealed, but were a concern to the father, who was then unable to comntacg his son by phone.  At that point, the father called police and the family reported their son missing. .  

According to a news release from Edmonton Police, they believe Smith may have been in the area of Holden, about 100 kilometres northeast of Edmonton, on Sunday.

Smith has shaved brown hair and blue eyes, is 5’8” tall and about 240 lbs. He was driving a dark blue Ford F-150 truck (1992 model) that has a large dent on the rear passenger panel and Alberta licence plate NAF 670.
