LETHBRIDGE – The season came to an end for the Lethbridge Bulls on Tuesday night, as the Medicine Hat Mavericks completed the playoff series sweep by beating the Bulls 9-5 at Spitz Stadium.

The Bulls jumped out to the early lead by scoring two runs in the first inning, but Medicine Hat stole the lead in the 4th inning when they cashed in six runs. They never looked back, adding three runs in the 6th inning.

Both the previous games had gone to extra innings with the Mavericks winning Game 1 by a score of 2-1 in 10 innings, and in Game 2 they defeated the Bulls 5-4 in 14 innings.

It’s a tough finish for the Bulls, who were looking to defend their 2015 WMBL title.
