LETHBRIDGE – The Lethbridge Junior Giants are off to a great start in the 2016 Junior Canadian Little League Championship.

They opened the round robin tournament with a stunning 20-3 victory against Saskatchewan. The Giants then went head to head with the Maritimes team on Thursday (August 4) morning, beating them 19-2. You can find a full schedule posted above.

All events surrounding the championships are set to take place at Spitz Stadium. Players aged 13 to 15 years old from British Columbia all the way to the Maritimes are participating.

The gold-medal team will be off to the World Series in Taylor, Michigan at Heritage Park from August 14 to 21.

Shayne MacInnis, Lethbridge Giants Coach, says there are no teams they’re particularly worried about at this point.

“It’s different kids every year, so it’s tough to pinpoint each team… Either way, you have to give it a good effort, and come with your top players.”
