Info Session Aimed at Mature Learners Looking to Return to School

LETHBRIDGE – The final information session for adults looking at a return to school is being put on next week at Lethbridge College.

The sessions are geared towards individuals who have been away from school for at least a year.

“We understand that people that are mature learners are adults, they’re people with families and jobs and obligations, and they have their own life,” explained Kaitlyn Fraser, a recruiter with Lethbridge College. “We needed to be able to be really flexible with our programs in order to hit those markets of people that needed that, that aren’t 18, 19 years old, that aren’t going to be able to just up and leave and go to school and be here full time.”

Fraser noted that whether you’ve never been to college, if you want to upgrade the education you already have or move in a completely different direction, it’s a great investment at any age.

She also touched on a few of the key points they will be going over during the session, “We talk about things like funding, we talk about things like residence, we talk programs that you can take online, or distance learners, or here on campus, and the flexibility that we have in those different programs.”

The session runs August 10 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Lethbridge College Main Campus Centre Core.
