Woman Accused of Killing Her Mother Makes Brief Court Appearance

LETHBRIDGE – The lawyer representing a 28-year old Lethbridge woman who is accused of killing her own mother, says they’re hoping to make some progress when the matter returns to court.
 
Jessica Lee Ann Praill was charged with second degree murder, after 54-year old Shelley Kristine Praill was fatally stabbed at a north side home on April 28, 2016.

That night around 9:40-pm, police were called to a report that a woman had been stabbed at a home along the 2300 block of 18 Street North. She was found inside the home and sent to the Chinook Regional Hospital, where she died at short time later.

An autopsy confirmed she died as a result of a stab wound.

Thursday morning (Aug 11) in court, Praill’s lawyer stated that they just received more disclosure from the Crown, and that she is hopefull they will be able to take a step forward in the case on September 6.
