Galt Museum Reports Another Successful Year of Operations

LETHBRIDGE – It continues to be the home of Lethbridge’s history, and the Galt Museum has reported another great year of operations.

CEO and Executive Director, Susan Burrow-Johnson, presented the 2015 annual report to council on Monday. She noted that visitation numbers are up, in both online and in person visits, by more than 2,500 guests.

Burrows-Johnson says the Galt is in a positive position financially, as well. The museum netted $26,061 in revenue, with another $112,494 in donations alone. Some of those funds have already been committed for some much needed enhancements at Fort Whoop Up.

After taking over the Fort earlier in the year, Burrows-Johnson added that there’s been nothing but kind comments from the community, and says it compliments work already being done by the Galt.

“I think that the staff and volunteers have had another successful year at providing education and the history of this region to our citizens,” says Burrows-Johnson.

The Galt welcomed 270 volunteers in 2015, who logged more than 9,000 hours.
