Volunteers Needed to Assist the Crowsnest Pass Health Centre

Aug 20, 2016 | 7:07 AM

CROWSNEST PASS – Alberta Health Services is calling for volunteers to help out at the Crowsnest Pass Health Centre.

Three different roles need to be filled to support patients, residents and staff in the area.

Office assistants handle photocopying, distribute resources, answer phones, greet visitors, file papers, enter data, provide courtesy calls and much more.

Volunteers seeking a role in the Therapeutic Recreation program will encourage residents to participate in leisure activities that promote socialization, and will be matched with clients based on common interests.

The Health Centre even welcomes furry volunteers! Pet visitations can promote healing, reduce stress and help patients make more meaningful connections. To be a part of this program, dogs must be certified and undergo an assessment process to ensure patient safety.

Those interested in any of the above positions are asked to commit to a minimum of 4 months, or 40 hours of service. Training and mentors are made available by AHS.

To apply, visit the AHS Volunteer Resources website, contact the Crowsnest Pass Health Centre at 403-562-5024 or e-mail volunteer.cnp@ahs.ca.
