LETHBRIDGE – A new trial has been set for a 53-year old former Taber man, who had his sexual assault conviction overturned earlier this year.

A jury found Jordan Van Voorthuizen guilty of sexually assaulting two boys on multiple occasions between 1995 and 2001 – starting when they were just six and eight years old – and he was sentenced to nine years in prison in 2014.

Following an appeal, the Alberta Court of Appeal overturned the decision and Van Voorthuizen was released on $5,000 bail.

The two week trial will go before a judge and jury, and run Novermber 20-December 1, 2017.
