Palliser Superintendent on Paid Leave Pending Completion of Organizational Review

Aug 24, 2016 | 2:11 PM

LETHBRIDGE – Palliser Regional Schools Superintendent, Kevin Gietz, has been placed on paid leave with no assigned duties, pending the completion of an organizational review.

Palliser’s Board of Trustees made the announcement Wednesday (Aug. 24), noting that they have also made a request to the Minister of Education to appoint an acting superintendent in his absence.

Gietz requested the board conduct the investigation back in January, after unverified comments and allegations were made against him online of bullying and unwelcomed physical contact toward female employees.

Dr. Terence Weninger and Dr. Kelly Williams-Whitt are currently conducting the review into Palliser’s practices.

It’s anticipated it will be completed by the end of October.
