Taber Police Lay Numerous Charges In Three Seperate Instances

TABER – Taber Police had a busy day on Wednesday (August 31) which resulted in numerous charges laid in three separate incidents.

Around 11 a.m. in the town’s industrial area, officers located a suspect who was believed to be involved in criminal activity in Taber and Raymond

Officers conducted an investigation and formed grounds to arrest a 39-year-old Redcliff man

Through further investigation, it’s alleged 39-year old Kenneth Miller of Redcliff, is responsible for being in possession of stolen computer towers from a break and enter reported a few weeks prior in Taber

The suspect was also allegedly in possession of a stolen wallet from a victim in Red Deer and had an outstanding warrant for his arrest from Raymond, issued earlier in the day

Miller has been charged with Break and enter, mischief, two counts of possession of stolen property under $5000, a liquor offense and numerous traffic related offences. He made an initial appearance in Lethbridge Court on Thursday.

Around 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Taber Police were investigating a break and enter to a home where two guns and assorted items were reported stolen earlier in the week.

The investigation led to a home in the 4900 block of 62nd Avenue and the identification of a suspect. 26-year old Devan Bathgathe of Taber was arrested.

Upon searching the home, police discovered the stolen guns and some of the other reported items, along with 25 cannibis plants being grown in the residence.

The suspect has been charged with break, enter and commit theft, careless storage of a firearm, unlawfully possess firearms, and production of a controlled substance.

He was released on bail with conditions to appear in Taber Provincial Court on September 27th.

Lastly, around 3 p.m., Taber officers spotted a 40-year-old man, drinking and driving in the industrial section of Taber.

The man was arrested and provided two breath samples which were allegedly 2.5 times over the legal limit.

The man from Bindloss, was charged with impaired care and control and was released for court in Taber on September 27th. The man’s name can’t be released at this time, as the charge has not been officially sworn before the courts.
