Police Issue Warning about Suspicious Man and Indecent act

Sep 2, 2016 | 1:05 PM

LETHBRIDGE –  After an  incident where a man was seen committing an indecent act while he watched children in a northside park, City Police have issued a warning.

Between 4:00 and 5:30-pm on Wednesday, (August 31), a man was seen committing the act in the St. James Boulevard area near St. Charles Road North and St. Andrew Road North. He was close to a park as he watched several children playing, and was seen walking from the park southwest to the area of St. Charles Road North.

The incident was not reported to police until a day later.

The suspect is Caucasian with a medium build. He was wearing a mint green t-shirt, skinny jeans, a baseball hat and sunglasses with wire frames.

There have been several similar events this year with no arrest made to date and police are asking the public to help keep youth and THE community safe by watching out for suspicious activity – especially near parks or other areas where children are likely to be present – and immediately reporting it.

Try and get a good description of the person – what they look like, what they are wearing, their direction of travel, any vehicle they get into and the license plate number.

For a crime in progress call 911.

For non-emergencies call 403-328-4444.

Anyone with information on this indecent act is asked to contact police at 403-328-4444 or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477. Crimes Stoppers will pay cash for information leading to an arrest.
