2016 Parade of Homes Marks 50 Years in Lethbridge

Sep 10, 2016 | 6:17 AM

LETHBRIDGE – The Parade of Homes is celebrating its golden anniverary showcase in Lethbridge.

It’s been a tradition in the region since 1966. Forty homes by 17 different builders all across the city and Coaldale will be open for residents to explore cutting edge design and top of the line technology this year.

It will also feature the fourth College Home Project. The five year, ten home project was undertaken by Empire Homes Ltd., that sees proceeds from sales go directly to the college’s trades facility enhancements.

“The Parade started with only a few homes on a single street, and now we have regional participation. To be part of a tradition that has seen tremendous change in areas such as community design, building technology, safety and warranty is incredible,” says Angela Zuba, CEO for the Lethbridge Region Canadian Home Builders Association .

Those who want to participate are reminded to enter the draw at each home for a chance to win a $5,000 landscape package, courtesy of the Scenic Drive Landscape Centre.

The 2016 Parade will open from 1-pm to 5-pm on weekends, and from 4-pm to 8-pm on weekdays. Homes will be available for viewing until Sunday, September 25.
