Puck Set to Drop in Face Off Against Cancer

Sep 16, 2016 | 1:02 PM

LETHBRIDGE – It will be a demanding weekend for 96 men and women in Lethbridge, as the fourth annual Face Off Against Cancer gets underway.

The game runs for 24-hours – going from Friday (Sept. 16) at 7 P.M. to Saturday (Sept. 17) at 7 P.M – with money raised this year going towards lung cancer research.

Since the event started in Lethbridge in 2013, it’s raised more than $100,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society.

“Lethbridge in general has been such a huge supporter of the Canadian Cancer Society and a huge supporter of the fight against cancer,” noted Lindsay French with the Canadian Cancer Society. “Every person who gets involved is directly helping to fund cancer research, support programs and advocacy groups. Every dollar raised helps to fight back.”

The opening ceremonies begin at 6:30 P.M. at the new ATB Centre on the west side.
