Lethbridge Steps Up in Face Off Against Cancer

Sep 19, 2016 | 3:24 PM

LETHBRIDGE – Despite economic uncertainties across Alberta, it was another very strong year for Face Off Against Cancer in Lethbridge.

With money still coming in, the 2016 event has brought in $42,185, well above the $37,000 raised last year. Since the 24-hockey game started in 2013, it has generated nearly $150,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society.

The 96 men and women who registered played through exhaustion, a few bumps and bruises, sore muscles and the odd bloody nose, with team White beating team Blue 158 to 107.

The money raised this year will go specifically towards lung cancer research.
