Young Athletes to be Chosen for High Performance Training Opportunity

LETHBRIDGE – Young elite athletes from Lethbridge and area once again have the chance to take their performance to the next level without leaving home.
 
The Alberta Sport Development Centre Southwest is now accepting applications from athletes between grades seven and twelve for its fall Athlete Enhancement Program (AEP).
 
Those selected will have access to free strength and conditioning training at the University of Lethbridge. They’ll also learn more about sport psychology, nutrition, injury prevention, media exposure and more during special seminars.
 
Deadline for submissions is September 30, with winners to be chosen by the committee by mid-October. For more information or to download applications, visit asdcsw.ca, or call 403-320-5271.
 
The government funded AEP program has provided resources to nearly 200 local athletes since 2009.
