ALBERTA – One man is in custody in connection with a pair of robberies in Nobleford and Shaughnessy this month.

The most recent was in Nobleford on Monday (Sept. 26) when a man entered a convenience store, produced a handgun and demanded cash from the store clerk. He then fled on foot without getting any cash.

The first robbery occurred September 12, when a man went into the Tickety-Boo convenience store in Shaughnessy around 8 P.M., produced what appeared to be a handgun and demanded money from the lone employee. After receiving the cash, the suspect fled on foot.

While a possible suspect was identified in the Shaughnessy case, police had yet to locate the suspect.

An investigation by RCMP linked the two crimes, and with assistance from Lethbridge Police the suspect was arrested Tuesday afternoon (Sept. 27) without incident.

The suspect is currently being held in custody pending an interim release hearing.

It’s anticipated that his name will be released once charges have been sworn.
