Oct 7, 2016 | 12:23 PM

STIRLING – Raymond RCMP have three subjects in custody after an armed robbery in Stirling.

It happened on Monday (Oct. 3) around 9-am, at the Street Side Market where a masked individual demanded cash and cigarettes. The suspect drew a pistol when the store clerks did not comply and made the demands once again.

However, the clerks still refused.

The masked person then left empty-handed, driving off in a teal green Ford Taurus car with no licence plate.

An hour later, police saw the car along Highway 4 and initiated a traffic stop. Four subjects were arrested.

Mereanda Josephine Sorensen of Lethbridge, Lenard Joseph Moorman of no fixed address and one youth, who cannot be named, are now charged with:

– armed robbery;
– disguised while committing an offence;
– obstructing a peace officer;
– using an imitation firearm while committing an offence.

All three remain in custody, and the investigation is on-going.
