CASA Challenges Artists To Enter Chilling Audio Creations For Annual Fundraiser

Oct 8, 2016 | 9:36 AM

LETHBRIDGE – Old-time silent horror films figuratively scream for spooky music.

The Gallery at Casa is hosting a music competition, with cash prizes, to coincide with the 2nd annual Halloween fundraiser, MONSTER MASH, Oct. 29.

Musicians, sound artists, composers and bands are challenged to provide a recorded score to one of many short public domain clips taken from silent horror movies.

The scoring can be instrumental, vocal, narrative or abstract and submissions can come from individuals or groups.

There is no cost to submit submission scores will be played during the week leading up to Halloween on various media platforms, giving the public an opportunity to hear them.

Videos will be screened at the Monster Mash party and a vote by attendees will determine the first, second and third place winners.

The deadline for submissions is October 17.

For information on how to submit, view the list of film clips, or to ask any questions, please contact Casa Curator, Darcy Logan.
