Five Lethbridge residents charged as LPS seizes $54,000 worth of stolen property

LETHBRIDGE – A short investigation has resulted in Police recovering drugs and a significant amount of stolen property relating to numerous residential and commercial break-ins.

In mid-September members of the Priority Crimes Unit began investigating a group of individuals believed to be responsible for a string of city property crimes, including residential and commercial break and enters and thefts from vehicles.

At the end of the month several search warrants were executed and police recovered about $54,000 worth of stolen property and quantities of cocaine, marihuana, methamphetamine and fentanyl. The stolen property ranged from a Ford F150 truck, electronics, tools, liquor, identity documents, vehicle parts and bicycles.

In addition, a Fender guitar, Epson projector and Canon camera – silent auction items that had been stolen from Big Brothers, Big Sisters – were also recovered.

Following further investigation, police were able to identify the rightful owners of most of the recovered property and it has been returned to them.

Police have charged the following:

Jonathan Alexander Kogler, age 28, with one count each of Assault, arson, Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000, six counts Break and Enter, two counts Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000 and two counts of Theft of Motor Vehicle

Jade Levi Trotter, age 30, faces nine counts of Break and Enter, five counts Trafficking Stolen Property, one count each of Arson, Breach of Recognizance, and use of a stolen credit card, as well as four counts of Theft of Motor Vehicle

Natasha Kristen Brooks, aged 27, has been charged with Possession of Stolen Property

Paula Chantelle Reed, aged 48, faces two counts of Break and Enter

Nicholas Rodney Scout, aged 32, has been charged with Possession of stolen property over $5000.

Additional charges against multiple people are pending.
