LETHBRIDGE – It’s almost time to start the 2016 holiday shopping season in Lethbridge with the Bright Lights Festival!

On Friday, November 18, free activities will begin just after Santa arrives in Galt Gardens at 6:30-pm. Classic Christmas movies will be shown from 7:00-pm to 9:00-pm in the pergola area, with hayrides, hot chocolate, apple cider, coffee and popcorn also being offered.

The London Road Neighbourhood Association will be on hand selling hot dogs and hamburgers, and accepting donations for the Lethbridge Shelter and Resource Centre Soup Kitchen.

Local businesses will be keeping their doors open late that night, as well, for the Midnight Madness special. The Downtown Business Revitalization Zone and City of Lethbridge encourage shoppers to keep their money local this year while out shopping for gifts.

The Allied Arts Council will open the Christmas at CASA Arts Market Friday night from 5:00-pm to 9-pm, and re-open on Saturday from 10:00-am to 5:00-pm. Over 50 local artists will be featured, with the chance to purchase unique pieces and enjoy demonstrations from local arts groups.
