LETHBRIDGE – The 2017 ACAC women’s basketball championships are set to take place at Lethbridge College next spring.

Eight teams will play 11 games from March 1 to 4 in the Val Matteotti Gym.

The women’s Kodiaks team is currently 3-0 in conference play, ranking fourth overall in Canada. They’re expected to be one of the favourites to watch in this tournament.

“We’ve got pretty much everybody back and it’s a good team, it’s a close team and they’ve been together for a few years, so that’s nice for me. I’ve recruited a couple of local kids and added those to the bunch,” said Brad Karren, women’s basketball head coach.

It was announced on Thursday, Nov. 18 that RE/MAX Real Estate Lethbridge has been named title sponsor of the event. It’ll help out financially and some agents will also be there lending a hand.

The ladies are on the court this weekend (Nov. 19-20) in Calgary, as well. They’ll meet up with the St. Mary’s Lightning on Friday, then take on the Ambrose Lions the next day.

Emma Lowry, Sunder West and Logan Moncks are all top ten in the ACAC right now in points per game.
