Police bust alleged drug house near school

LETHBRIDGE – Police believe they have taken down a house used to sell drugs, across from a school in north Lethbridge.

The ALERT Lethbridge organized crime and gang unit received word of drugs being sold out of a home on Meadowlark Boulevard North. Members acted quickly, out of concern for public safety given the proximity to a school.

On Thursday, Nov. 17 the home was searched. According to police, they seized 243 grams of crack cocaine, four Percocet pills, more than $6,300 proceeds from crime, and evidence of possible trafficking.

A second home along the 1300 block of 7 Street North was also searched as part of the investigation. 12 grams of cocaine was found there, along with a two year old child. A 22-year-old woman arrested at the home is charged with possession and endangering a child.

Facing charges from the home on Meadowlark Blvd. are:

Abdual Kadir Salad, 20, of Calgary;
Mohamed Yusuf Isse, 26, of Ottawa;
Abdulghani Kalif Youse, 23, of Toronto;
Wayne Brown, 25, of Lethbridge

They’re charged possession for the purpose of trafficking, and proceeds of crime.

The total value of the drugs is more than $25,000.
