Lots of Christmas Light displays in Lethbridge – Get out and take a look

LETHBRIDGE –  The dark days heading towards the New Year will be a lot brighter thanks to an extended period of warm weather, which was a great motivator for residents to decorate their homes for the holidays. The weather was also a great help for setting up the Nikka Yuko Winter Light Festival, which opens at 7:00-pm every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

All around the city there are new displays, as well as the annual, familiar offerings everyone is anxious to see.

One of the familiar light displays can be found at the Smith home, at 1204 22nd street south.

This is the 29th year for this Christmas light display and the Smith’s are thrilled to see people come by their home to enjoy their handy-work.

Mr. Smith notes that they have scaled back the lights a bit (you really can’t tell they have scaled back). In past years, the display included large scenes on the roof but, the couple has found it more of a challenge to decorate the higher places as the years passed.

The Smith Christmas light display is open to the public from 5:00 to 10:00 each evening, up to and including New Year’s Eve. They love to have people come by, and you’re welcome to walk among the display and take pictures. They just ask that visitors respect their property and the work they have done.
