STOMP captivates with unique percussion experience

Jan 9, 2017 | 8:01 PM

LETHBRIDGE- The cast of the international sensation STOMP made noise for the first time in Lethbridge on Monday (Jan. 9) night.

The show that uses common everyday objects, like brooms, shopping carts, lighters and much more, to make a unique percussion experience started its humble beginnings as a street performance in the UK. Over the last 20 years, it has taken off with performances in over 50 countries to millions of fans.

The humorous troupe of performers used a combination of movement and visual comedy to captivate a sold-out audience at the ENMAX Centre. Everything but conventional instruments created a contemporary rhythm that brought a word-less dialogue between the characters to life.

STOMP, hailed by reviewers far and wide, was created by Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas, and now has a number of Tony, Academy and Emmy award nominations and wins to its name. It runs four permanent, sellout productions and tours with a continually evolving set.
