LETHBRIDGE – The case against a 52-year old Lethbridge man who had been accused of using his vehicle to hit another individual, has been stayed by the Crown.

Vincent William Boutcher had requested trial by judge alone, however, Lethbridge News Now learned Monday (Jan. 16) that the case will not be proceeding.

On the evening of August 7, 2014, a 50-year old man was sitting in a chair at his campsite in the Bridgeview Campground, when he was hit by a vehicle, resulting in serious injuries.

An investigation determined the driver and victim were known to each other, and on August 13 of that year, Boutcher attended the police station where he was taken into custody. He was then charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, dangerous driving causing bodily harm and criminal negligence causing bodily harm.
