Feb 11, 2017 | 6:05 PM

TABER-  UPDATE – 10:27am  Fire crews are still extinguishing hotspots this morning (Sunday) at a Taber industrial building, after a huge fire broke out there yesterday afternoon just before 3pm.

Spokesperson Meghan Brennan says while the blaze has been fully contained, crews will remain on the scene for some time.

Three people were in the Flexible Solutions building yesterday, all were able to get out of the building, with one person suffering minor burns. Officials say precautionary evacuations were executed for the nearby Frito Lay plant, and notice was also given to Rogers Sugar.

A blockade remains in place at 52nd Avenue, from 57th Street to the Highway 36 Service Road.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

UPDATE: Taber Fire and Police were called out around 2:30pm yesterday (Saturday) to a major structure fire in the 5800 block of 52 Avenue.

The Flexible Solutions industrial building had gone up in flames, and the Town soon enacted its Emergency Operations Centre, blocking off a number of areas to all traffic, including the nearby Frito Lay packing plant.

Flexible Solution develops and manufactures organic and biodegadeable products that increase crop yield, improve oil and gas operations, reduce the environmental footprint in cleaning and water treatment, save water and save energy.

Around 6:30pm, Taber’s police chief announced the fire had been contained and no one had been injured.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
