LETHBRIDGE – The Lethbridge Family Centre is set for an exciting year!

During a sneak peek event on February 15 with local home builders, Peter Imhof, executive director, unveiled a new social media campaign that he’s thrilled to share with the community.

“What we want people to do is talk about their family, show us a photo of their family or a video, where they appreciate how their family supports them, or how they support their family,” he explained.

“Keep in mind that what makes us strong is sometimes inside of us, but it’s also sometimes around us. It is who supports you that makes you strong and successful.”

He encourages all Lethbridge residents to share their personal stories, using #YQLFamilies, from now through to the summer.

In addition, Imhof also provided more details on the new Family Centre opening up in the Coalbanks Elementary School this coming fall. He was proud to say that the small branch will be the first facility to provide supports for family and children on the city’s west side.

“It’s really important to make it as easy as possible for people to access services when they need it… If you have additional barriers, like you need to find a way to get to the southside to get to the help, that can make it prohibitive… So, we need to go to where the people are to make it as easy as possible for people to access those supports,” Imhof continued.

The new branch will open alongside the school on Labour Day.
